Ha! I am sure he would look very handsome in a pink dress. My husband would not want to hear it either.

I hope that didn't create more controversy for you b/c I love reading all of this.

When I was young my neighbors (8 and 10 years old) used to dress up their brother (5) in dresses complete with make-up and a wig. My favorite thing about him is what great friendships he maintains with both men and women. Maybe being in touch with his feminine side helped bring that about :)))

I say go with a nice shade of green :))

This slightly reminds me of that French movie "Ma Vie En Rose" but this is not at all as extreme, of course. I think it is pretty normal for kids to cross those lines when they're young. But my husband would have a fit, too. And that surprises me from him because he is the most liberal man ever- unless his son starts dressing like a girl.

It was all that weiner talk....

And Black is very slimming!

Here is what I told all the parents of the boys who loved to wear the dance outfits, full of sparkle and glitter.

It doesn't mean that your are raising Elton John. Your son is well aware that he is a boy and clothes aren't what will determine his gender identity.

BUT kids who are experimenting with imagination NEED props like clothes to help them assume different roles. They are developing empathy skills - projecting feelings and figuring out different responses. And who can resist Glitter? and Sparkle? I mena come on! Thats the best looking stuff in dramatic play.

I don't blame Seth for wanting a lovely dress. Boys have to settle for such dull stuff!
