Chicken Yittle

So we rented Chicken Little from Netflix a few weeks ago. We’ve yet to send it back as The Boy LOVES, LOVES, LOVES this movie.

He loves it so much I’ve discovered that if he’s being a total little shit, I can threaten to send the movie back. He’ll flail and yell, “nooooooooo.” But then he’ll fall right into line. Now THAT’S the sort of currency I’ve been looking for with this whole parenting/discipline stuff.

If you haven’t seen the movie yet, you should. Its really, really cute and fun. As Seth has insisted on watching this movie almost every day, he now can and does quote various lines any time and any place the urge strikes.

At one point in the movie, Runt (the pig with an inferiority complex) exclaims, “Deploy ladder, Fish!” At any given time in the day, Seth will (out of the blue) emphatically yell, “Deploy ladder, Fish!” But it comes out sounding more like, “Depwoy yadder, Bitch!”

Looks like another “he’s really NOT cursing although it sounds that way” talk to his teachers at his United Methodist Children’s Day Out is in order.

Ha. I wouldn’t tell them. See what happens. I suppose, however, it would be nice to avoid all the really mean phone calls about your son’s bad mouth.

Oh well. It’s still pretty funny.

That’s so cute! I love those little linguistic gems!

I’m half-excited, half-dreading the times when Hugo can get into movies. I’m not sure I could handle watching the same kid movie over and over again. But then again, if it gives me the leverage to fit in a bubble bath…

    I love that!!

My daughter’s th’s have always come out f’s, only now she’s gotten the “ank” down a little better… Naturally that made “thank you” sound like “f–k you,” which always drew a lot of public stares.

My dad was also always trying to get her to say silly things like “I’m a horse at last,” which always came out “I’m a horses ass!” Now, when she does say the occasional word she shouldn’t, I’m so torn between wanting to discipline and wanting to fall down on the floor and laugh, that I usually just end up stuttering for a minute or so…

Have you seen The Wild yet? Cute.

My son has a thing for Thomas the Tank Engine, and his favorite engine is Percy. He’s also recently learned the word “need” as in, “I need it, Mama!” about anything he wants, popsicles, Flintstones vitamins, that balloon… The other day, he was asking for a little wind-up Percy toy he has and it came out like, “I need Pussy, Mama! I need Pussy! I neeeeeeed it!” I handed the Percy toy over and said, “You don’t need that for 18 more years. Now repeat after me, Per….cee!” We’re working on it.

LOL “another…talk”? They must wait for talks like that from parents; I’d keep a kids’ faux swearing quote wall in the back if I were them.

So funny! A cute story: my best friend’s younger sister had a speech impediment and could not say ‘r’s. But she did say this, “I can only say the R in my name: Audwa.” It was so cute!

ROFL…I love it. That’s one for the scrapbook!

And don’t you love when you finally find that magic thing that allows you to extort good behavior from your kids? lol

Very funny! Had to read this one to my husband because he wanted to know what I was laughing about. I feel like I’m getting a preview into my own life.
