Ha! One of my dogs only needs to hear the word "cat" and she comes running from anywhere in the house to chase some pussy. Which is unfortunate for our two cats and for my daughter who is trying to learn the word "cat". But I like the fact that I got to use the word "pussy" in a sentence without being dirty.

Twice, in fact. :)

We have two Boston Terriers and a well treed backyard. It makes for good times.

Macey makes noises unlike any I've ever heard when she trees a squirrel. It's painful, but she doesn't stop and she will sit out there for hours staring up the tree.

She hasn't quite figured out that just because he went up that tree, it doesn't mean he's coming back down.

I'd jump to another tree too if there was an insane little dog squealing up a tree at me.

Free dog entertainment is the best!! What kind of dog is she? Our heeler sounds very similar. She will run anything out of "her" yard. She can sit and stare into the trees for hours and not tire.

Goldie is half greyhound and will chase anything that moves. She keeps the yard free of squirrels, birds, gophers, lizards...and even things that don't usually land there like crows, seagulls and airplanes. So far, thanks to her constant vigilance, no airplane has ever landed in the yard. One big "WOOF" usually takes care of it.

The squirrel plays games with her, though. He stands on the tall wood fence until he sees her inside the house. Then he jumps down BANG on the wood deck. She dashes outside and he runs up the tree with her on his heels. Then he throws himself through the air back to the fence and stands there chattering. I swear he is messing with her.
