Hey you! (Yeah you.) Over there.

December has been a rough month for this Midwestern Mama thus far. There have been a multitude of migraines, nasty colds and now some stomach thing. Methinks its food poisoning cause it feels alot like the “souvenier” I brought home from Mexico. Only worse.

There were several points over a certain night where I was curled up in a ball on the bathroom floor (later on, in the hallway floor and still later, my bedroom floor) motionless, feeling big drops of sweat fall off the tip of my nose. Good times people! (No, not really.) But I did lose two pounds. Course it could have been because my body decided to (violently) oust everything that was in it and I didn’t eat for almost 2 days. (Almost. Try 46 hours.)

This unholy experience took place Thursday night-Saturday. And I STILL feel kinda crappy, tired and crampy.

The whole point of that is: sorry for lack of updates and lack of posted comments on your sites.

There was a point where I had been reading your posts but Blogger hates me as violently as my digestive system has. And won’t let me post comments on beta blogs. So I did some anon posting. (I don’t leave trollish comments. Ever. So if you got some of those, that ain’t me.)

Anyway…

I gots some questions for ya’ll. (Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments section.) I’d love to hear your opinions on this:

1.)What were the best and worst shows of 2006?

2.) What public figure was the biggest trainwreck of 2006 and why? (Public figures are anyone in the public eye — celebs, politicians, evangelists, reporters, athletes, etc.)

3.) Who is the most improved public figure? Why?

4.) Who is the most overrated public figure?

5.) What (in your opinion) was the biggest scandal of 2006?

With all of the not feeling good lately, I’m very far behind on a number of things. So I probably won’t post again until after Christmas. But I hope you all have a happy, healthy, safe holiday!

May your drinks be strong.
May your hangovers be weak.
May your family get along.
May you find the peace (or piece, heehee) you seek.
May the food be great
And the nap too.
May next year be kind to you
the whole way through…

Well I’m definitely not one to ever complain about anyone else’s lack of updates. What a bummer about whatever bug you’ve picked up; I’m really sorry to hear about that. I hope that you’re feeling a little better and that you feel 100% sooner than later!! Take care of yourself!!

Now then, those questions? Well, I don’t really watch television. I don’t even know who most public figures are, much less whether they’ve improved or created a scandal.

So, to recap: I am culturally challenged. And I hope to goodness that you feel better soon!

What kind of hard questions are you asking over there? Huh? I’m not answering them all–I just can’t think that intensely tonight ;-)

    Grey’s Anatomy–Best Show. I don’t know about a worst show–I don’t watch a show if I’m not enjoying it.

I’ll get to the others later.

I am sorry that you have been having such a rough time. Abbie and I were home most of last week with the stomach thing!

I also think the whole blog world has slowed down for the holidays. NO worries.

    To answer your questions…

1.)What were the best and worst shows of 2006? Best: The Office, Hero’s Lost, How I met your MOther, House, Medium, CSI, Live From Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip… Worst… The Class… um… I can;t think of what else…

2.) What public figure was the biggest trainwreck of 2006 and why?
Brittany Spears comes to mind. Where is her mother? Poor girl needs some help and some panties!

3.) Who is the most improved public figure? Why? I am not sure…. humm.. will have to thikn about that one… Al Gire maybe?

4.) Who is the most overrated public figure? Tom Cruise! Are you seeing a celebrity trend here in my answers?

5.) What (in your opinion) was the biggest scandal of 2006? I will also have to thikn about this… I am brain dead today!

    Happy Holidays!

Dang! Hope you feel better soon! I have tummy troubles every day of my life - I’ve learned to live with my medical problems - I hate them :-( I can’t think straight enough to answer all these right now - but I will throw my opinion in of the best show being The Office!! Okay, so it’s the only TV show I watch - I hate TV - I think it’s a waste of precious time, but that show rules!

Trainwreck? Gotta be Tom Cruise. He went from golden boy to the man everyone hates overnight with a few well-placed faux pas. That takes talent.

  6. Anonymous on December 19th, 2006 7:39 am

    1. I don’t know. I didn’t watch much this year, I guess.

    2. I’d say Tom Cruise and Britney Spears tie up the trainwreck category.

    3. Someone said Al Gore. I’ll agree with that. Or Martha Stewart. Nobody even mentions her prison stint anymore.

    4. I think Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Ritchie are tied for most overrated public figures

    5. Biggest scandal? Ummm…Mark Foley? Tom DeLay? I don’t know.

    Hope you’re back to 100% soon :)

  7. Anonymous on December 19th, 2006 1:27 pm

    1. Grey’s Anatomy - best
    Anything reality - worst

    2. Lindsay Lohan - coke, alcohol, the list goes on and on

    3. Most improved - OJ (omg that was a joke. Cmon people!)

    4. Overrated public figure - Paris Hilton. If we all stop watching/talking/pointing and laughing at it will it go away?

    5. Biggest scandal - Mark Foley

  8. Becky on December 19th, 2006 5:16 pm

1.)What were the best and worst shows of 2006? Best- Greys. Worst-i have no idea cuz i only watch what i like!

2.) What public figure was the biggest trainwreck of 2006 and why? (Public figures are anyone in the public eye — celebs, politicians, evangelists, reporters, athletes, etc.) um…i have no idea on this one. i’d say britney but i know there’s worse ones.

3.) Who is the most improved public figure? Why? Again i have no idea!

4.) Who is the most overrated public figure? Paris Hilton. she’s retarded.

5.) What (in your opinion) was the biggest scandal of 2006? ??? i DUNNO!

    i sucked at this! sorry!

  9. Andrea on December 19th, 2006 5:31 pm

    1. Grey’s Anatomy, and House were the best. Don’t usually watch it if it’s bad, so I don’t know the worst. Maybe that VH1 show Strange Love with Brigitte Nielson and Flava Flav.

    2. I agree with Britney. She’s been through a lot this year. Part of me feels sorry for her. Then I get over it.

    3. Most improved? Um, well… Maybe Keith Urban? After rehab, he’s bound to be improved. Right?

    4. Paris Hilton. Exactly why is she famous again?

    5. Mark Foley. Or maybe the OJ Simpson book. They just fired Judith Regan, the editor behind that project.

  10. Mrs. Chicky on December 19th, 2006 8:21 pm

Biggest train wreck has got to be Britney. Has anyone else in history imploded as quickly as she has?

Sorry you’re feeling crummy. I hope you recover in time to have a great Christmas!

  11. Anonymous on December 19th, 2006 8:54 pm

Oh, Lisa! Do take care of yourself. I know that there is something nasty going around, as I had something that gave me EXTREME chills and then a high fever (maxed out at 103.9) and I NEVER get fevers. Anyway, I’m glad you’re doing better.

As for your questions, I’m only going to answer the first half of #1 because I am SO FREAKING PASSIONATE about it. Dexter. Hands down. Dexter. I love it. I love Michael C. Hall. I love the girlfriend, the sister, the badass cop who is on to Dexter, Angel, Masouka. The cast is great, the storyline keeps you guessing and Michael C. Hall’s face is so darned expressive. When he hit his girlfriend’s ex-husband over the head with a frying pan and made this cute little, ohholyfuckIcan’tbelieveIdidthat face I thought I was going to lose it. BEST. SHOW. EVER. And I never thought I’d find a show I like as much (actually more than) Sex and the City.

I so hope you are ALLLLLL Better soon. How awful your illness sounded.

Best show? For me it was The Office. Love it. I’ll give the other questions some thought. Good questions, by the way.

  13. LiveLee on December 20th, 2006 5:26 am

missed ya, thought the holidays had gotten the best of you. ;)
Congrats on the 2lbs…sorry it had to go that way!

    best show - Grey’s, definitely
    biggest trainwreck - Brittany
most improved - Mel Gibson, right? he said he was sorry…
most overrated - Angelina Jolie, with all of her ‘i don’t see borders crap…please, quit with the gaggingly nice cozy little family stuff. you had an affair with a married man (who isn’t all that, anyway) and now you’re shacking up because you can’t have sex with women if you marry him. lots of people adopt children from other countries, you’re not as special as you’d like us all to think you are. whew…where’d that come from? guess i’m stress projecting…?
biggest scandal -for lack of anything else to say… wire tapping

and cheers to you and yours…happy new year!

We had that!! We had that same dastardly disease, made the rounds of everyone in our house and hopefully is LONG FREAKIN’ GONE.

I didn’t read everyone else’s comments but the best show of 2006 is fa sho The Office, no question about it. :-) As for all those other questions, you obviously have mistaken me for someone intelligent, because I got no answers.

  15. Hulai on December 21st, 2006 4:53 am

awe honey im sorry you have been so sick. my mom has been like that for close to a week now. i hope you feel better soon and have a safe and happy holiday!

  16. Anonymous on December 21st, 2006 6:58 pm

Long time reader, first time poster.

    1. Best shows: the office, grey’s, ugly betty.
Worst: dunno, I don’t watch them!

    2. trainwrecks: Britney, Lindsay, Tom.

    3. most improved: Al Gore. Hands down. You go, Al!

    4. Overrated: Britney. At least Lindsay can act. When she’s not flashing people or writing nutzo emails to page six.

    5. Biggest scandal: I can’t decide between Tom Delay and Mark Foley.

I hope you feel better soon!

Oh, I hope you’re feeling better now!

    To answer your questions:

    1. I don’t really watch TV, so I’m not at all qualified to answer this one.
    2. Britney Spears. Girl’s a hot mess. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse for her, she goes and flashes her vulva to cameras around the world. Ugh. I think she needs an intervention. Soon!
    3. Al Gore.
    4. Hmmm…they kind of all are, dontcha think???
    5. Oh, so many. Mark Foley comes to mind first, though.

Again, feel better soon and have a wonderful holiday!

  18. Red Rollerskate on December 22nd, 2006 5:34 am

Sorry you were sick. I am very, very, very scared of getting that bug. Hope you feel better soon.
    1) Best show - Scrubs and Desperate Housewives and the Office. Worst - ?? I only watch the good ones… :)
    2) Biggest train wreck - Bush
    3) Most improved - Britney Spears - for a week. Then, lately, not so much
    4) Most overrated - Paris Hilton
    5) Scandal - Iraq war

  19. carrie on December 22nd, 2006 9:47 am

I’ll have to get back to you on the questions, as my eyelids are threatening to slam shut!!!

Merry Christmas, and I love that little diddy at the end! ;)

  20. Kristin on December 23rd, 2006 4:16 pm

Feel better MM, that sounds dreadful!

    1. The Office and My Name is Earl
    2. Dubya, Britney and Lindsey tie…
    3. Brangelina
    4. Brangelina again!
    5. James Frey? Mark Foley? Tom Delay?

BTW- Beta blogs hate me as well.
