Nice review. Oh what timing!
Seriously, I love the hybrid system. I'm planning to scrap my car with newly replaced parts like saturn mirrors and doors for this hybrid.

Our 2005 Pontiac Vibe (which is described as a "Sports wagon," and is the same car as the Toyota Matrix) is supposed to get 32 MPG HWY and 28 city, according to EPA estimates. Husband, who keeps very careful track of mileage/money spent on gas these days, says our car really averages 26 MPG, but he also says the EPA estimates are always overly optimistic.

Current Vibe models are supposed to get 30/36 MPG, and start at around $17,000.

Given the great mileage my own non-hybrid crossover gets, I am rather surprised that the Vue doesn't get better mileage. I've been wanting to purchase a hybrid for some time, but, if I'm going to pay the premium for a hybrid engine, I at least want it to significantly beat the MPG of comparable non-hybrid vehicles.

Thanks for the thorough review -- we love our hybrid Prius, but I'm thinking a bigger vehicle might be good next time around. The Vue is on our short list.

oohhh. That's awesome! How fun that you got to do that! How did the little people all fit? That's our biggest issue right now is needing to have them NOT on top of each other and arguing!
