The 5-year-old formerly known as “Seth”
Just so you know? There has been a name change in our family.
Seth decided he no longer likes his first name. At first he was wanting a “cool” name like his best buds Josh and Luke. He later decided he is to be referred to as “Speed” from here on out.
And if you choose to call him “Seth” instead? Or even “Bunny”? May God protect you from the wrath of a 5-year old boy who KNOWS how to wield his new light saber (from Target, natch). He’s 42 pounds of (squirelly) running fury – that one.
P.S. This is his “game face”. He thought a bandage would make him look even tougher — as to intimidate the other team.

Ooh! He does look intimidating. And with a name like Speed? Look out!

I can’t believe you didn’t go with “Speed” from the get go…I think the bandage is working!

Speed is quite intimidating with his “Cars” bandage on. I ain’t messing with him for sure.

That is such a boy thing to do! I love it! And yeah, that band aid sure does make him look tough, the competition better watch out!

Suggest to Speed that while cool, Lightning McQueen isn’t as intimidating as say, a band aid from the Pirate collection.
Tamberlyn on 09 Oct 2007 at 12:43 am #
“Speed, I am speed.” (lightening mcqueen) Mine would totally approve of the new name. BTW, I hope your stare down is even more intimidating or else you are in BIG trouble!

LOL, what a face. Love it

That’s funny. JUST yesterday, my 5 year old son told me, “Mom, I hate the name Nolan. It’s a kid name, not a grown up name. What happens when I am a grown up and I have a kid name?” I tried explaining that Nolan is a super cool grown up name, but he wouldn’t have it. He wants to be Zackary, like his DAD. Well, guess what, kid? Zackary is more od a “kid” name than Nolan! Maybe if he was given the option of “Speed,” it would have gone down differently. BTW, Seth is hardcore. Remind me not to be alone in an alley with him.

oh yeah! I vote for Speed.
My 4 yr old told me that he wants to change his name to Spiderman; which makes perfect sense.
No?

Rrrrrrrrrrrr. Love Speed’s game face. Pretty smart kid to come up with the band-aid as an intimidation factor. Yiikes….just you wait until he turns six! LOL.

Would you kindly ask Speed if I can borrow his game face? Love it!
Candace aka matt on 13 Oct 2007 at 2:19 pm #
With that face he might want to watch out for the cheek pinchers maybe speed can out run them. cute cute cute…

How could you have possibly picked Seth when Speed is such a cool name? In fact, I think I might change my name to Speed. So do you call him Speed?

My son also went through this at one point. Now he’s 15 and working on a felony record. Maybe I should have changed his name and made him happy? Just kidding!!

That’s so cute! It reminds me of when my 7-year old NIECE decided she wanted to be called VIPER. Her parents were mortified, while I found it wildly amusing.
