Back in the saddle again…
(Now I can’t get that Aerosmith song out of my head. I’m BACK! I’m BACK! I’m BACK in the saddle agggaaaaiinnn.)
The holidays were great. We kept busy with playdates, family get-togethers and even a trip to Miami for new year’s. But that child has energy. Let’s put it this way — picture six monkeys on meth. Pour that energy into one child.
Is it so wrong that I can not wait for this child to go back to school? Is it so wrong that I’m fantasizing about making a few pitchers of margaritas and throwing a “the kids are back at school” party with the other moms in the ‘hood? I’m pretty sure at least a few are up for it.
How did you lovelies cope? When do you expect to regain your sanity?

Seriously, it’s not wrong to look forward to a break from 24/7 kid-energy! I suspect the most popular line in any Christmas song is, “And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again!”
Enjoy your ‘ritas!

You are 100% perfectly normal if you ask me:) And if you have that “YIPPEE! Back to school” party on a wed. eve, I’m more than happy to join:)

That was me last Thurs/Fri. God love ‘em but they SO needed to be away from me by then!

*giggle* Love Linda’s reply! I second it all the way. Which is why I cannot have a margarita party, as I now have to work off all that extra poundage from the chocolate!
Glad you had a good holiday!

Haha! No, there’s nothing wrong with that! I don’t have any kids, but I had a FULL house over Christmas! My parents came, and my sister and my 10 year old nephew. Plus the 10 week old puppy… that’s a lot of people in my little townhouse! As much as I ADORE my family, I’m glad everybody went back home! Serenity now!!!

Oh, I am so with you. I was so happy when the kids went back to school… not that I didn’t love every minute I spent with them.
I coped by indulging in the most sinful of winter drinks… Tom & Jerrys. Hot custard spiked with liquor. After the kids were in bed, of course.
I also tried to enjoy the manic energy of my kids and arranged a whole bunch of winter activities with them… sledding in the yard, making a gingerbread house, watching movies, playing board games… etc.

Welcome back! I’m looking forward to reading more from you again. And yes, I’m totally happy with school being back in session again.

I figure that I’ll regain my sanity when they leave the house for good.

Um, when my kid turns five and starts kindergarten? Unless of course I end up homeschooling him, in which case, never?

I am so glad the kids are back in school, mine are just turned 16 and 7. They fight worse than if they were 2 years apart! The girl has the i am 16 now attitude and the boy just torments her. I wanted to throw a party the day I dropped the 7 year old off at school, I did the whole the kids are gone dance out of the school, so were a few of the other moms!!!!!
Glad you are back.

Regarding nothing relating to this post: Barb and I recently exchanged emails, and she mentioned that you and I should go out to lunch and that she should join!

After today, I am so glad that I am heading back to work after being home with the kids since just before Christmas. I’m pretty sure they are glad I am going back as well.
Once again, props to all you that stay home, I really, really would lose my mind. I am so thankful I get to go in 3 days a week for a sanity check. The paycheck is almost a bonus.

Are you kidding? My kids returned to school last week and I did that jump where you kick your heels together after I closed the door behind them. I don’t know how I’m going to survive summer break.
I’m glad we got to hang out!

We were actually at school early because I was so excited for my older one to go back! By the way, I thought of your post on the pixie stick because I found my older one using the cat toy (pole with long piece of fleece hanging off of it) as his tail the other day!

I would repeatedly sing that old Christmas song “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”….
On the day they went back to school *LOL*
And did you mention margaritas???? Yeah, I’d probably start my coping with one of those

I know. I need a nanny for the next vacation.

now you’ve got the song stuck in my head. Cute picture of Seth sleeping in the cart.
