Michaella Lawson, owner of MikaRose is giving away a $60 gift certificate to one lucky Midwestern Mommy reader! (And yes that’s enough to include shipping!)

In case you aren’t familiar with the brand, MikaRose dresses are great for the office place and other times when revealing your inner “hoochie mama” isn’t appropriate.  The dresses are cute, affordable, easy to accessorize, and not frumpy.

In order to qualify, go to the MikaRose website and then come back here and leave a comment as to what dress you’d like and why.

The boy will pick at winner on the 14th.

Oh and on the topic of cool stuff, Bob the Builder has a new dvd out that the little boys in your life are bound to love. To read a review (written on behalf of PBN) click HERE.

    HOW FUN!

And of course, I’m fantasizing about my post-partum self… I have two weddings to go to within 8 weeks of giving birth and it is my goal to look HAWT. One wedding is for a friend that I’ve known since we were 3 years old. She’ll have guests there that I haven’t seen in darn near 20 years. I want people to look at me and say “Wow, she just had a baby?!”

I heart the Raven in black (XL).

  2. Liz on February 7th, 2008 12:48 am

Oh wait! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Cynthia in the red/white (XL). It’s saucy and says “Don’t even ask me when I’m due!”

Hi! MikaRose has brought me out of (mini) lurkdom to say hi! (I just found your blog the other day.)

I love the Ariana (S), and would love to win something. But Liz up above with two weddings- she probably has me beat in the deserving department.

    Nice to say hi! though!!

The Halle or Arianna….I’m challenged by fashion, never wear dresses so either one would shock everyone (myself included)!
    Thanks!

I like Raven. I am down to 1 dress in the closet that fits and that I like…I need something cute for work!

  6. NotAMeanGirl on February 7th, 2008 6:08 am

Ahh none of their things will fit me… YET. However I had you on my mind tonight. I tagged you for a book MeMe over at my place. Come lookee!!! :)

I love the Halle. Looks so comfortable and easy to wear. I only have one dress in my closet that isn’t materntiy, and I haven’t worn it since my wedding luncheon. How sad is that? If I won the GC, I’d have to buy my first pair of dressy shoes to go with them, and that just might be life changing.

I, of course, like one of the clearance dresses. It didn’t have a name–just style 3103.

I don’t even own a dress. Really. It’s been my mission for the past 2 years to find a decent dress that I can wear for nicer occasions, but I’m difficult to fit (short waisted, big bust). This dress is simple, and the right length, and a fun print…I think it would be perfect!

What a great group of dresses! I really like the Ashley.

Those are great! I like the Katana because it’s so different than anything I’d ever be able to buy in little ol’ Mayberry.

  11. abunslife on February 7th, 2008 3:55 pm

I really like the Madison but it is sold out, so my second choice is the Katana (S) because I’m sure my husband would like to see me in something other than jeans and sweaters. He would prefer to see me in nothing at all….but I would really like a new dress so he should be happy with that. :)

I don’t even own a dress right now that fits me. Once I shape up a little, I plan on strutting my stuff again!

I like the Halle, but my favorite is in the clearance section. I love style #3102 - the black and red together is stunning.

  13. Lisa on February 7th, 2008 5:06 pm

I love the Cynthia dress! It looks simple, innocent, and darling all wrapped up into one!

  14. Michelle DePew on February 7th, 2008 5:43 pm

The ‘fashionista’ in me is drawn to clearance #3102 (Lilac/Sliver) the tulip hem too cute!
My mind would love a small but the body needs a medium, hips – it must fit around the hips.

I love the clearance 3104 in black. I’m starting Medical school in the fall and I have nothing that’s flattering and professional. I also have no real budget with which to buy new outfits, being that I soon will be accruing massive amounts of debt. I love your site, I read it all the time, thanks for posting!

I totally love the Cynthia in red/white XL also. I’ve been losing a ton of weight and have zero clothes to go on all of the job interviews I have lined up. I think the color would give me a ton of confidence. That site is great, and this is so cool of you!

  17. Gina on February 8th, 2008 4:11 am

Style #3102 One of the clearence… it’s gorgeous, I’ll love to wear this one!!! hope I win!!!

I’m a fellow St. Louisan (although I live in Houston) and have been reading your blog for a year now but have never commented - even though I enjoy it immensely. Like many of your other readers, I am dealing with a post-partum body which is quite an adjustment. I also, not unlike the others, don’t currently own a decent dress. My coworkers, family, and especially my hubby would absolutely die if I actally wore one. For that reason, I would love to have Ashley in XL (yes, still dealin’ with baby weight). And if I don’t win, I may buy it anyway just for the shock factor!

    Keep on blogging!

I LOVE the Isabelle dress. I am the frumpy professor who could stand some style and this dress is gorgeous.

It seems to lovely and yet completely wearable for so many occasions. That’s what a girl needs in a dress, flexibility and functionality along with hot mama-ness without hoochi-mama-ness.

I also really like that the models are not all stick-thin white girls.

I stumbled upon your site through a link on Zoot’s page and then I think maybe one more link … but yeah. I thought I’d just share that the Halle would make me get off my butt and get back out on the dating scene. The V-neck would make my boobs look great, and the “belt” would make my hourglass shape stand out even more. I’d be even more worth dating in a dress like that!

  21. Rani on February 9th, 2008 2:58 pm

I love the Isabelle (style #4206) It would be perfect for my 10 year anniversary trip to Hawaii in April.

    Thanks!

  22. Ree on February 10th, 2008 2:27 am

Oooh, I love Halle because the 3/4 length sleeves and the sash are lovely. It’s the right length for work - and it looks really comfortable, something I can’t say about very many dresses.

  23. Tuesday on February 10th, 2008 10:29 pm

The isabelle would be perfect for my after baby bod. Just what I need to motivate me after this baby!

  24. Guruchel on February 20th, 2008 7:43 pm

    Nice Site! Thanks!
