“Sneaks” gets a little sister

The little next-door neighbor girl came a callin’ yesterday. She and her family are the owners of  Maddy, the dog we secretly nicknamed “Sneakashit” last year.

“Sneaks” is a power pooper who likes to roam the neighborhood and leave “presents” all over our yard and on our back patio. (Once she left a big ole steaming “gift” on our patio two-minutes before a bunch of rambunctious 5-year-olds invaded the house for Seth’s birthday.)

Sneaks also enjoys getting into our trash. If our garage door is left open for even a few minutes, she considers it her obligation to seek and destroy. She also loves to spread other people’s trash — aka the neighbor’s USED maxipads – all over our yard. Although Sneaks otherwise is a very sweet pup, she’s not our favorite dog in the ‘hood.)

Anyway… Here’s the conversation the little girl and I had.

Neighbor Girl: I got a new puppy today! I want to show Seth.

Me: You did? Uh, Wow! (Confused. Almost too scared to ask.) What happened to your other dog?

Neighbor Girl: Oh we still have her.

Me: So now you have TWO dogs?

Neighbor Girl: (nodding excitedly) YEAH!

Me: Ohhh… (Silence. Glad NG is only 6 and can’t recognize an “Oh Crap!” expression when she sees it.) Sorry sweets but Seth isn’t here. He’s at a friend’s house. But I’ll tell him you got a puppy. He’ll be really excited for you.

Neighbor Girl: Ok. (Turns around. Stomps off. Starts screaming at the new dog.)

Me: (Watches her leave. Feels very sorry for this new dog.)

Anyone know where I can find a truck-sized pooper scooper. Wonder if Amazon’s got those?

*** We are thinking of going to Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston for spring break. If any of you live in that area and want to meet up, pretty, pretty PLEASE let me know!

*groan* I guess Sneaks owner’s never heard of a something called a leash law, huh? Hopefully the new puppy won’t learn to take after Sneaks.

Petsmart has GOT to have something!

I felt the same way when my old neighbors kept bringing dog after dog home that they flat out ignored. Poor things.

Another neighbor had two black labs that she didn’t keep to her self at all and they would steal everything out of our yard. Her 15 dozen cats would always tip over our trash can. Made me want to scream or rub HER nose in it!! (Seriously, I did count once and saw 8 cats of hers in my yard….)

maybe it’ll be a tiny, polite dog? Here’s hoping, anyway…

    Good luck!

Oh, the used maxipads. Yech. My dog eats any diapers that get left near the changing table, and leaves the chewed up bits all over the floor. Occasionally she’ll throw them back up. It’s awesome.

The brother I was trying to auction off is in Houston. Wanna go on a date while you’re there? ;)

wow. why is the dog allowed to run free, and have you ever tried talking to your neighbor about that? that would be a big problem for me.

thanks for stopping by my blog, and for your kind comments about our struggle on whether or not to move MQ to kindergarten. sounds like we’re both struggling with similar questions. Maybe we can figure it out together! ;)

Yes, Sneaks does run around the ‘hood. I have called them countless times about their dog being out. They pretend to act surprised, then thank me and tell me they’ll bring her back in. (They like to blame their autistic son for letting her out.)But 15 minutes later, she’s still out.

Once, she was out while they were gone. We took her inside the house in the basement — where she pooped in four different spots in about 30 minutes’ time and chewed up some stuff. We’ve also tried keeping her in the garage when that’s happened. She’s pooped all over the inside of it then took our trash apart as well.

The people are the type that “retaliate” if they feel you’ve wronged the. We’ve had some issues of things getting broken when we lodged a complaint once. (My purse was even stolen once right out of my car.) Their other next-door neighbor complained years ago to the police and had a whole rash of stuff happen to their property as well. (Although its done in a way no one can really prove it was them.)

So now if the dog is out for a long period of time, I give it food and water. I know I’m contributing to the pooping problem in this case but I hate the idea of the dog being hungry or thirsty. The dog looks healthy and well groomed otherwise. But yes, I do worry about the dog.

Maybe Amazon sells some sort of reverse invisible fence that will keep the dogs out of your yard since they aren’t being kept in their own.

Oh girl, that really sucks! Hire a professional pooper scooper company and send them the bill.

And I thought my cat was a little snot for peeing in the air vent. At least she’s MY cat.

(I put foil on the vent, it seems to help…hopefully.)

There is a website . . . rottenneighbor.com - I heard about it on the local news. If you have it in your neck of the woods, you may want to visit!

And dear god, I hope Sneakshit #2 isn’t going to be learning any tricks from #1!

Forget PetSmart. Hit up Home Depot. Get a big ass shovel. Then deposit sneak’s ‘gifts’ back into the neighbor’s yard. Yeah. You know I’d do it.

I’m in Houston! Let me know if/when you come! :) I’m about to do that meme! :)

We’ve chased neighbor dogs out of our yard, scared them so they won’t come back. We have pet rabbits, and we don’t want dogs scaring them — or worse. I like the idea of the reverse invisible fence, if it exists, and the big shovel works for me, too.

Sorry about the new poopy — err, puppy!

Seems like you have your hands full these days with number one AND number two!!

We have a neighbor who walks her German Shepherd on our street and he takes VW size craps that she never picks up. Sneaks…that’s brilliant.

That is why, at the end of this month, we are putting up a fence….I think I will then plant a garden..haha.

I love lurking around your blog..very funny
