Why laptops can be hazardous to your health

I know there are people that say laptops are not hazardous to one’s health but I beg to differ.

Like when you are using your laptop at your snackbar in your kitchen. And you get off the stool, take a step and trip over the battery cord. And hit your head on the counter.

 OUCH!

%$#$^&@&^%$!!!!!

 &^%$@$^&*&^^$$$!!!!

(Hold on, I’m not done swearing yet.)

I look forward to meeting other St. Louis Bloggers. I met some at the Bossy night, which was fabulous. I hope to make it to the next St. Louis Bloggers Guild meeting.

Seriously, I hope you are ok!!

I’m sorry about your friends loss of her posts. I know someone on my blogroll who may be able to help. She’s a computer wiz. I’ll shoot her an e-mail.

Ooohhhh… I’ve done that. Only the laptop was on my couch and I fell into an end table. They’re nasty like that.

Sorry about Dana. That really sucks. I wish I had an answer for you.

I was so happy to hear that you got your laptop. And sorry to hear about your little trip over the cord. Didn’t you read the section in the instruction manual about the dangers of blogging on the snack bar? Be careful!!

  • By candid, April 22, 2008 @ 11:12 pm

Sounds like you should name that thing Pith instead of Pita!

    OUCH.

Good thing that puter is new!!!

  • By MammaLoves, April 23, 2008 @ 3:42 am

    Oh your poor head.

You just reminded me that I have to figure out a way to back up all my posts. UGH.

  • By Carrie, April 23, 2008 @ 4:22 am

Ooh, I hate it when that happens.

Good luck to your friend Dana, I am as computer illiterate as they come, so I am of no help - but if I think of something, I’ll let you know! :)

  • By slackermommy, April 23, 2008 @ 7:14 pm

There should be a warning label. I’ve tripped over mine countless times!

  • By Linlee, April 24, 2008 @ 2:16 am

Good thing the puter didn’t fall off the counter… it’s new isn’t it?
We need to get together soon for lunch. I MISS YOU!

You’re always good for a laugh–maybe you’ve just helped me prove to my husband why I must have a Macbook Air. :)

  • By Amber, April 24, 2008 @ 2:33 pm

And to think I have always been relieved my computer-guy hubby is not on the front lines somewhere with his job. Now I know the truth of what dangers he encounters every day…..

  • By Grim Reality Girl, April 24, 2008 @ 5:58 pm

Ouchy! I hate it when that happens!!! I applaud your cursing skills and share your pain…. been there, done that too many times! Sorry for Dana…. Ugh.

  • By quinn, April 24, 2008 @ 6:41 pm

Ouch! Yes, I learned my lesson the hard way too (laptops, while portable, maybe shouldn’t be… ported.. everywhere) in a similar incident involving blogging while keeping the dog on the treadmill.

  • By becky, April 24, 2008 @ 6:53 pm

omg that sucks that you hit your head. and sucks she lost her stuff! keep us posted on how/if she gets it back!

  • By Daisy, April 24, 2008 @ 9:30 pm

Oooh, hate it when that happens — the Ouch and the virtual Ouch. I hope someone with computer skills turns up and can help.

  • By Dana, April 24, 2008 @ 10:06 pm

Yes, I’d definitely sleep with one eye open. This time it will trip you … next time, who knows?

I will be manually inputting archived Google Reader entries for days to come. But! Most of it, if not all, is there. Andrea and Rebecca much rock-o.

  • By Suebob, April 25, 2008 @ 4:38 am

My MacBook has a MAGNETIC cord attachment, so when you trip over it, the cord just pulls loose. GENIUS! Totally worth the extra $1000 this thing cost me over a Dell.

  • By Gina, April 25, 2008 @ 2:09 pm

Please let me know if you find help about getting all those years back. that too happened to me, but in pictures… my son’s first two years of birth. My computer crashed and even though I lost all the info, I thought I was saved because I had the pictures in the msn space… Little did I know that they were going to cancelled my account a month after and have not given me any answer.

  • By Isabel, April 25, 2008 @ 5:51 pm

I don’t want to admit to how many times I’ve tripped over a damn power cord. I’m new to walking.
